Abstract

The relevance of the scientific problem is determined by modern threats of a geopolitical and general cultural nature. In particular, it concerns literary and publishing relations between Ukraine and Latvia and Lithuania, which took place in the 20th century and in our time. In this regard, a wide field of events of an artistic, literary and publishing nature is unfolding, considered both in historical retrospection and in a modern perspective. The main authors who considered these problems, in particular, in Lithuania, are Misiūnas, Remigijus, in Latvia Māra Rozenberga, Santa Lauga, Pauls Daija, Benedikts Kalnačs, Eva Eglāja-Kristsone, in Ukraine, Iryna Prodan. The purpose of the study is to describe the main stages of publishing activity (in the field of fiction) in Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania, taking into account the intercultural relations that have developed between writers and scientists in these countries both in history and at the present stage. The research methodology is based on both general scientific principles and methods borrowed from the field of literary studies and translation (fiction), as well as from publishing activity. The results of the study: 1) the creative achievements of prominent writers of Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania are compared with the stages of development of publishing activity in these countries; 2) the facts from this area are assessed from the point of view of history and modern relations between the peoples and cultures of these states. Conclusions from the study: 1) the activities of prominent cultural figures of Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania in the field of fiction are characterized in connection with the development of publishing activities; 2) the results of this study have both theoretical and scientific significance and practical application.
