In the context of the rapid digitalization of the media environment and the transformation of traditional forms of mass communication, the issue of preserving and rethinking the role of radio journalism is gaining particular scientific and practical relevance. Radio, as a medium with over a century of history, demonstrates a unique ability to adapt in a competitive information space dominated by digital platforms and social networks. Despite the significant number of scientific works devoted to the theoretical aspects of journalism and mass communication, certain issues regarding the functional potential of radio journalism in the modern information space require further scientific understanding. The aim of the article is a comprehensive study of the social functions of radio journalism and the determination of its communication potential in the conditions of the functioning of the modern information space. The research used methods of system analysis, functional approach, comparative and descriptive analysis of media texts.
